A stunning Floral print by Pancrace Bessa (1772-1885) part of a series produced for the first edition of Flore des Jardiniers, Amateurs et Manufacturers.

Condition: This print is in excellent condition. It is a beautiful hand coloured engraving. There is no descriptive text. These prints are over 170 years old and are some of the most beautiful and rare hand coloured prints of the time. The paper is a thick high quality woven paper that is light cream in colour. Print size is 220x140mm, mat size, 390x300mm.

Notes: Pancrase Bessa (1772-1835) was a pupil of Redoute & Van Spaendonck. During this era of magnificent French botanical illustration, Bessa contributed to some of the most famous works of the time, including the masterpiece “Description des plantes rares cultivées à Malmaison et à Navarre”.

Presented in a museum quality double mat, with backing, ready to frame. Certificate of Authenticity included.
